SeriouslyBert: Cops bust largest drug ‘super lab’ in Canada

The lab was a part of the Habib/Lyons/Sandher/Sinaloa Cartel operation.

The bust was announced Oct 25, 2024. The haul was 390 kg of meth, 54 kg of fentanyl, 35 kg of cocaine and 15 kg of MDMA. The Falkland drug lab was directly connected to the September seizure of more than 30 tonnes of precursors in Enderby.

The B.C. director of civil forfeiture filed a forfeiture claim against the property at 5011 Hoath Road in Falkland, as well as the various pieces of lab equipment on January 31. Named in the claim are property owner Michael Driehuyzen and Gaganpreet Singh Randhawa. The claim notes that in 2015 and 2016 cops busted grow ops at the property. Randhawa has a bail hearing Monday, February 10, 2025.

There have been no further arrests in the Falkland bust. Cops needed to shutter the Falkland Lab (and Langley lab) and gathering exhaustive evidence would mean more people would die.

The Falkland lab was visited by Sinaloa boss Edgar Watson, and KTF brass including Bir Singh Sandher, Gurjit Singh Jhajj and interim KTF boss Arsh Dalla before commissioning. Gurtaj Singh Sandher was at the lab.

Sami El-Helou handled payment for the purchase of precursors. Those came through the HAMC and the Pig Puncher at DeltaPort.

Basically the entire KTF/Sinaloa Cartel operation has been shuttered. Cop information could only have come from informed insiders, almost certainly associates of the executed Donny Lyons.

Michael Driehuyzen bought the 163-acre drug lab property on 5011 Hoath Road in Falkland in May 2007 for $655k. It was used for an illegal grow op for years. He now lives on a chicken farm on Downes Road in Abbotsford owned by a Kamloops poultry company. Driehuyzen claims full ignorance. The Sandhers leased the ground from Driehuyzen. Long-time Sandher lawyer Bert Tonsoo (rtonsoo@bensonlawllp.com) drafted the lease agreement. The string of Sandher/KTF/Sinaloa lab busts stands at 2 labs plus the storage facility in Enderby.

RCMP raided a rural property in Enderby in Sept 2024 and seized 30,000 kg of precursor chemicals. The 2.6-hectare property was purchased in May 2023 by 2735152 Ontario for $1m. It's Ottawa address is a Mexican restaurant with workers there ignorant of the company or owner Osman Ghazie. The Sandhers and Dale Habib were in partnership in the synthetic drug business with Donnie Lyons.

89 guns were seized in raids in Surrey Oct. 25. Included are .50 cal sniper rifles, weapons of war. 45 handguns, 21 AR-15-style rifles and submachine guns round out the firearms.

Gaganpreet Singh Randhawa is facing multiple drug and weapons charges. Randhawa is a Jat clan found in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. Palwinder Randhawa and Kabal Randhawa of Randhawa orchards in Vernon touted the Sandhers in the press on Sept 9. "The kindness shown by Sandher Fruit Packers has given me hope that we can get through this."

Cops say cleaning up the lab will cost taxpayers at least $500k. The setup was as sophisticated as any they have ever seen. It mass produced fentanyl and meth, most of which was destined for Australia and New Zealand. Several tons of unregulated chemicals used to produce P2P (phenyl-2-propanone) were seized. Seen for the first time in Western Canada, P2P is a Class A scheduled precursor that's essential to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
